These Principles are reference points in consciousness, doorways through which we can enter into new paradigms of living. 

Slowing Down & Deeper Listening

Slowing down powerfully increases our capacity for presence. In Somatic Experiencing we understand that trauma is something that happens ‘too much too fast too soon’. Through slowing down, we can begin to heal & integrate difficult past experiences that are being held in our body-mind in the form of unresolved stress. Deeper Listening happens naturally as we begin to slow down and transform the inner tensions that we carry in our bodies. The heart and soul move slowly.

Honouring Limits

We so rarely pay much attention to the deeper layers of feeling and past experience who lay distraught and undigested within us. Our limits are represented by our unresolved past and it is by courageously turning towards them, facing them, acknowledging them, honouring them and celebrating them that we can really become more available to the aliveness and mysterious beauty of the present moment.

Presence & Helping

One of our biggest confusions is believing that love and the need to help someone is the same thing. These are two different realities. Our reaction to help often masks our own difficulty to presence suffering, helping in this sense is a survival impulse and is a symptom of unresolved trauma. When we are exposed to a person’s emotional suffering and immediately react into helping, this type of reactive helping is known as rescuing. Loving presence is more a witnessing and acknowledgement of suffering. In presence real help happens.

Resourcing

Resourcing is about recognising our deeper needs and consciously meeting those needs.  So that we can begin expanding our consciousness beyond familiar limits.  Resourcing is orienting to sunlight in way of coming back to ourselves & supporting others to do the same.  Resourcing is self-care.  Resourcing comes from presence, helping and fixing is reactive and lacks the strength to presence suffering.  Resourcing is a way in which we share presence with ourselves and others. 

Allowing feelings

This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome them all! Even if they are a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture,

Awareness of bodily sensations

Sensational awareness has the power to free us from debilitating symptoms, sensations are a gateway to both healing trauma and reclaiming our true selves. Sensations are the forgotten language of our bodies. Each sensation carries information about what we have experienced and who we are. Through remembering the sensational level of experience, we are remembering our belonging in the body.

Exploring Resonance

Exploring Resonance is a creative act. In this we experience ourselves in radically different ways, moving beyond the idea of being fixed in our identities. Playing with different ways of being in service of healing and expanding our sense of self beyond previously known limits. There is Horizontal Resonance / Relational Presence & there is Vertical Resonance / Representation.

Gratitude & Appreciation

Gratitude brings us in touch with our true essence, if ever we feel stuck, taking a moment to be grateful & reframing our experience in a positive way can have a very radical effect. Being able to experience gratitude for what happened in the past frees us from the past and brings us powerfully into the present moment. Gratitude is the gateway to presence. 

Celebrating What Is

Celebration is the act of letting go of the ego and coming totally into the joy of the present moment. First we learn to acknowledge and allow feelings, then we learn to honour them and give thanks and finally we celebrate them, no matter what they are and from where they are have come, we celebrate them and we celebrate ourselves because we are happening right now in this very moment!

Through embodying these principles over time we slowly begin to radically and positively change our way of living to find greater resonance with who we really are.

Somatic Experiencing. These two powerful therapeutic approaches combined complement each other beautifully. These sessions serve as a pathway for digesting and healing personal & trans-generational trauma by guiding you toward a richer sense of presence and a deeper connection with your true self.

Family Constellation & Movements Of Soul

Family Constellation is an approach to healing trauma across generations founded by Bert Hellinger.  Hellinger discovered that there are certain invisible laws that family and social systems follow.  These laws exist to care for the belonging of everyone in the system and mean that later generations of a family or society often carry the unresolved trauma for previous generations, this act of unconscious carrying which keeps us stuck in the past we call ‘entanglement’ or ‘identification’. These laws which Hellinger called the orders of love are: Belonging, Order & Balance. You can read more about them here.

Whatever issues you are experiencing in your life, work or relationships, you can find its roots in unconscious family dynamics. Through bringing conscious awareness to these dynamics and family ties, opening safe space for deeper feeling and healing movements of the soul to take place, we can begin experiencing more love, ease and flow in our lives.



Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing (SE™) focuses on resolving symptoms of trauma, stress, and shock that are being held in our nervous systems.  What happens in traumatised nervous systems is that people get stuck in shut down and freeze states, living our day to day lives over long periods of time in this way can result in a loss of feeling really alive.  The way back to pleasure and aliveness is by bringing the bodies natural healing capacity back online.  We can do this by orienting to the positive sensational level of consciousness, this brings the healing vortex online.
